Weekly Update

Hello everyone,

so unbenounced to me, I've been led to actually follow through with something I feel strongly about; updating all of you on how I am doing and what cool things that are going on in my life.

This week was exceptionally cool. We had parents night at E180 (Stroudwater Christian Churches Youth Group night). this is an annual night where we invate all teh kids parents in to join us in some games, and get involoved in what there children are excited about. We spend a short time doing some ice breaker games, and a couple of fun interactive games, then the parents spend some time learning about all the great oppertunities Stroudwater has available for their children over the next year.

This year we have SPAM camp (which takes place in June on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire where the kids spend the week building sports and music abilities and learn about Christ through them. We also have our annual Water Country trip! a day in the sun at the water park for just a good time to hangout with friends.

Our HUGE event in the next year is our Teen Guatemala trip!!! We are planning on bringing a group of teenagers to Guatemala to experience our relationship with the country and experience what it take to be on these trips and the great things God reveals through these works. The plan is to do a camp set up (like Stroudwater has been doing for the past year) and have the kids be involved in the skits, leading games, and giving some of them the opportunity to share their stories and thoughts on God with the locals.  This is going to be a profile that Stroudwater is planning on building in every three years on their missions trips.  Of course this will be a trip i will be fund raising for and hoping to help the kids find ways to raise their own funds with the knowledge I have of such things. We will be planning some fundraiser events for the trips throughout the year, so keep posted!!!

On the other hand the Church will be sending a construction team down on a seperate week to start building the pastors home of the village the church has adopted. The pastor (from the video you can view here, him and his 9 kids and wife live in a home that is less space then most peoples average living rooms. It will be a huge blessing to be able to give to the man and his family!

Mid week I had the GREAT opportunity to join a small group at the Sea Road Advent Church in Kennebunk, ME where my good friend Pastor Paul Gant leads his flock to God through his amazing insight! I was an amazing blessing to be apart of the group and see the insight of new people and there life experiences with what we were discussing. It was also a very great moment to catch up with old friends who I don't get to see very often.

Yesterday I was graciously given some tix to go see Paul Colman on Saturday! I am very excited to have a chance to see a musical set by someone doing what he loves for God.

What to expect in the Future?
well it looks like a longer missions trip may be in store next year. i am not sure what it looks like yet but it may look like January to end of February. I have been asked to join both trips (the Teen camp and construction team) and also have been asked to be apart the leaders conferecne in Guatemala that Pastor David is putting on for all the leaders and missions people who come to serve with them. That event happens in January, the teen trip is the week of the 15th in february, and we are still unclear to when the construction team might head out.

Things that you might be able to help out with:
- I would love to have some contact info for some churches who do missions trips.
- I heads up on cars in the area that are for sale, in decent shape and not to much work to put into them; not sure but have a feeling my car might be on its way out..
- prayers for some projects to come my way to help pay for food and gas (specifically, graphic design or websites or videos).

Thank you everyone for reading my blog, and supporting trips I have been on in the past and trips I will be apart of in the future. You are the body that runs this machine, I am simply the hands to help.

God Bless

Crazy beginning to the week.

Well as you all know i have been jobless, and looking harder than ever to find something.  recently I lost all hope in finding one, then out of no where an opportunity for at a camp came up.  I got an interview within the week and just had my second interview with them. Not sure how that went but we will see.  Also Monday I was looking around for jobs still and ran by a listing for a camp that needs a videographer documenter for the camp for the summer. It fit everything i was looking for in experience and so naturally I sent my resume and a cover letter via email.  I went to apply for another job and came back to send the email and already had a reply from them!!  So we got to talking and it looks like I have that position for sure! it stinks cause I will be gone all summer from everything going on here but it will be a lot of great experience.

Our lock-in we had last Friday went great!! my night started out playing some basketball with kids who are much better then I am, then capture the flag, then some just dance 2, then elimination (the best dodge ball game EVER!) then MORE just dance!  Greg and I had to take on the girls in some Micheal Jackson dance offs and they came back with challenge of toxic which you can see below...

So my summer could be pretty entertaining and fun we shall see what God has in store!!!

How things are going

So I realized I have updated you all on things recently. for the most part its been about the same.  Still looking for a job, and doing what I can to keep busy.

Last weekend we had an over night event with the youth group I help lead, and Lord only knows how I made it ALL night after shoveling Mulch ALL day long before we left, and without any energy drinks!  Show you up world that's what I do! :) -

Well the event was really cool, we had games and events planned out most of the night until around 2 when people started falling like flies. the majority of the still awake crew played massive amounts of Dodge-ball and ping pong. All the kids had a good time meeting up with old friend from camps that they go to in the summer. It was especially nice for me to see some of the Lakeside kids again. Its been a while and I miss then a bunch.  They all recognized me and I recognized most of them. Didn't do to well with names (sorry Sara), but we made it through the night.

Tonight we have ANOTHER over night, but this is just a have fun and go to the Stroudwater campus over night. Which means  food, and games, and something diabolical. some of the girls have been planning something with tape... not sure what to expect. BUT I can expect some fun.

The other thing I have been keeping busy with is the Calendar I am creating. I found a local company to print through and now I have had to create EVERY 11x17 sheet. I love it because I get to be creative, but now its getting down to all the details which is going to take some time. Some people convinced me to do a Jan-Jan calendar instead of June-June. I liked the June to June idea because come next June you all will need new calendars haa! BUT that is kinda selfish so I took sides with everyone else. BUT soon enough the will be done. It may be a little longer before they are ready to print but y'all are gunna lov'um!!  :)   a little saying I picked up in Virginia.

Well I will try to keep you posted more often. The next trip looks like it will be Jan 2012!

Thanks everyone who has been there to help out. you ROCK!

God Bless

The Passion of the Christ

Well tonight might have been one of the most pivotal moment in many of our young ones lives.  We were given the opportunity to watch the Passion of the Christ through our Church and wanted to offer it up as an evening plan for our Journey 527 kids and family members.

I personally have seen the movie multiple times, because there is so much goodness from Story telling, to visual effect, to camera angles, to acting that just fit into amazement. And let me tell you, if you have a weak stomach, don't like blood, don't like subtitles, have a problem with torture, this may not be the movie for you.

The Passion of the Christ is a VERY visual film of the crucifixion of Christ and His ministries of Love from God to the people.  I would recommend this movie to anyone even if you do not believe I Jesus the way I do.  If you go through this moive and do not feel a change at all you should really ask yourself the question 'why do I not feel any different after seeing a man who did nothing wrong get complete humiliated in every manner?'

we had about 20 people at the event and it was the first time I have been in a room with any of the kids and no one say a word.  Especially after a movie that is rare if not never.  Me personally can't get through the movie without being broken.  In my own words I don't care what people think of me.  I don't even care what they think of Jesus claiming He was the Son of God.  I do care that people believe this man was not real, that this did not happen, and that they want to pretend it all away.  At least have the repsect that this man went through this horrific event. That alone should make you think twice about how you live your life.

Jesus Loved us all enough to go through all of that and to see some foolery of a Rap star, swapping out his teeth for Platinum BLOWS MY MIND!!!  To watch a Beautiful person be taken from the street she lives on and prostituted into the world of Playboy and leisurely sex brakes me. To hear of  man kill someone because they didn't want to give him money for the addiction he had to meth... well.. I dunno.. my mind is going haywire.

I realized my viewing of this movie makes me want to be quiet because I have so much to say. but everything I want to say comes out as anger towards the world, which God doesn't want, and Jesus wouldn't recommend.  So I keep quiet. But when does not standing up for something and saying something become irrelevant to sharing your faith.  is it when you end up on the street corner shouting at everyone telling them they are going to hell unless the repent?  is it when you see a friend in dire need to saving from the knife the have to there arm? NO!!! it becomes irrelevant the moment you walk out your door, the moment you wake up and put your feet on the floor.  The moment you say your first hello for the day.

We should be living lives to better show the Love Jesus shared, and not being afraid to live that way.  and you know what, once you start adding those things Jesus taught to your way of life, you realize that they are not that bad, they are actually... better!  I challenge any of you to do so. find something in the Bible, or talk to someone who has knowledge of the Bible and Jesus' teachings and trying one of the many things Jesus presents to us for a week. just one thing, and see how it impacts your life.  Go ahead I DARE YA!

Well needless to say I am fired up and wish everyone would see this movie or attempt it. Its not easy to watch, its not exciting thriller, but it is True and it is Love.

OTHER NEWS:
I will be heading off to Virginia with our churches first In states  missions team. We hope to be able to bring back things we learn to help around our own community here in Maine.  also the calendar photos are in. I hope to have them made by end of May.  You can email me at charrill@hollowgroundmedia.com, text me, or message me on facebook and I will add you to my order list.

Thanks everyone for all your support. I will be looking for some sponsorship help soon for Guatemala. I hope to get as many people to buy Calendars as I can because I feel you should receive something for helping out.

I think I found the Fountain of Youth

Right here in our own backyard, just beyond the Dunkin' donuts, across the fields of Westbrook High, up and over I95, and tucked away in the corner of a quaint little neighborhood right here in Westbrook.

The place is filled with magical laughter that whips through your ear follicles, and makes you see light in places you've never seen it; It is filled with an energy that doesn't exist anywhere else in this world; Stomping feet, Glowing faces, riveting vocals. The sights, the sounds, the events in that take place here are AWESOME. I am talking about nothing other than Youth Group. Yes the Fountain of youth; the faucet of eternal childhood happiness; the geyser of everlasting joy.

Tonight was especially special because the kids who aren't all over facebook like myself and so many others, found out I cut my hair tonight, saw the video and got to see what there leader was doing to help raise a little bit of funds for them, to help give them opportunities to go out and enjoy fellowship and being Christ followers in a Broken World.

We ended up playing four on the couch tonight and Dodge ball! two of the most intense games you'll ever play, sitting down and standing!! My good Friend Greg gave them a great message on stepping out and telling people about Jesus and their faith.

No matter how hard my days can get, with all that can go through my mind (when am I going to get a job opportunity? what about money? I wonder who looks at me differently? am I going to e able to afford...?) Youth group always brings out the inner joy in me. That's why I declare I have found the fountain of youth! Everyone who comes in to hangout and have some fun and talk about Jesus always gains that feeling of childhood joy, that feeling that they are holding there favorite toy when they were younger. Which tells me there is something in the water, or the fellowship of Tuesday night that just fires everyone up of all ages.

So that has been this day of excitement, I hope to keep people posted on each thing That i am apart of to help show and keep myself posted on what is going on and how I am doing.
